昨年あーとびるを訪れてくれたカリフォルニアの Kimi Klause
さんからメールがありました。

Hello Kumagai sensei and Tsutomo san!
I hope that you are all okay after the recent disaster.
I have not yet heard from any friends in Kuji and am worried.
I know that communications have been interrupted so I am
hopeful to still hear something.
So far all friends and relatives that I have heard from are
safe and okay.
Shizu san's father and sister have suffered damage to their
homes, but are okay.
I am still waiting to hear from my cousins in Shirakawa,
but I am hoping that they are far enough inland that they are
okay too.
You are on my mind so often and I'm sorry I have been remiss
about emailing or writing, but have already addressed an
envelope to send a note. Then I remembered that there was
an email address on the artville site so hoped this would
get to you more quickly!

熊谷先生と勤さんへ、
大変な災害ですが皆さん無事あることを祈っております。久慈の友だちからはまだ何も知らせがないので心配しております。通信網の混乱があるのは知っていますが、何とか情報が得られないものかとわずかな希望を捨てないでいます。
現在までに知らせがあった限りでは友達も親類も皆大丈夫です。しずさんのお父さんとお姉さん(妹？)のところでは家の被害はあったそうですが元気とのことです。
白河のいとこたちからの連絡はまだですが内陸なので安全なのではないかと思います。
先生のことはしょっちゅう思い出すのですがメールも手紙もかかずに失礼しております。いつでも手紙は出せるように宛名を書いた封筒は準備してあるのですが。
ふと、あーとびるのサイトにアドレスが記載してあったことに思いがいきましてパソコンに向かいました。うまく届くことを願っています。
